What is marine pump capacity Q

Marine pump capacity Q means the amount of liquid delivered by pump per unit time.

And the capacity generally means the volumetirc capacity (Q) and the unit is in m³/h or L/min. Sometimes mass capacity (G) is also used and the unit is T/h, kg/min. The relationship between them is
G=ρQ
Where, G is mass capacity (kg/s)
ρ is the density of the delivered liquid (kg/m³)
Q is the volumetric capacity (m³/s)

Rated capacity means the capacity when pumps works at rated conditions. The rated capacity is usually marked on pump nameplate. Since the actual capacity is affected by the piping system and other factors, it may not equal to the rated capacity.
